Bonita Dukes (AIA, NCARB, LEED AP BD+C) is the Vice President of Facilities Management and Chief Facilities Officer at Clark Atlanta University (CAU). In this role, she provides strategic direction and leadership for the physical development and growth of CAU’s physical environment in support of the university’s mission and goals.

Bonita is responsible for the planning, accountability, management, administration, design, construction, engineering, maintenance, and operation of campus buildings, grounds, utility systems, environmental health & safety, and other supporting infrastructure. She leads a team of dedicated employees and full-time contractors who deliver facilities, custodial, grounds, maintenance, and utilities services that support the 1.4 million square feet of campus buildings situated on 126 acres. Her diverse background and skillset, which includes expertise in architecture, planning and design, real estate development, facilities management, and construction administration, has enabled the successful delivery of various capital projects totaling over half a billion dollars. 

Prior to Clark Atlanta University, Bonita was Associate Vice President of Facilities Management at Stetson University where she was responsible for leading a team of skilled trades professionals and contractors in delivering all facilities services for the university covering a 204-acre footprint. Under her leadership, the team executed over eight thousand service requests per year. She also served as Facilities Management and Project Specialist overseeing contract management, best practices, energy efficiency, and feasibility related to the design and construction services of new facilities and renovations of several major capital projects in less than three years. 

Before joining senior leadership teams in the Higher Education sector, Bonita provided design, project management, and construction administration services on several high-profile projects as a project architect for one of the ranked Top 50 US architectural firms, Niles Bolton Associates. 

Bonita received her Bachelor of Architecture degree from Hampton University. She is a licensed Architect and a LEED Accredited Professional with a specialty certification in Building Design and Construction.
