Niraj Dangoria

Niraj Dangoria serves as the Vice Chancellor for Operations Management and Capital Programs at the University of California San Diego. He started his career at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, making blueprints as a part-time student employee. From there, the three-decade journey has taken him through UMass Amherst, University of Cincinnati, Cal State Monterey Bay, and, more recently, Stanford University. On each campus, Niraj has led efforts to transform the physical environment and leaves a legacy of renewal and operational excellence.
Niraj’s experience includes managing planning, design, and construction of large-scale institutional projects, facilities operations, utilities and infrastructure, sustainability, environment health and safety, public safety, and parking and transportation.
He has a professional degree in architecture and a master’s degree in regional planning. Niraj is a past president of the Society for College and University Planning (SCUP). In 2019, Niraj was awarded the Marsh O’Neill Award by Stanford University for supporting research excellence at Stanford. In 2018 he was awarded the Distinguished Service Award from SCUP. He is a former city Planning Commissioner and board member of civic and government organizations.
