University Architect/Director of Planning, Architecture, and Engineering

Miami University

As Director of Planning Architecture and Engineering for Miami University, Robert oversees the planning and alteration of the University’s facility inventory of approximately 8.8 million gross square feet across four campuses. He leads long-range planning efforts for academic and administrative divisions and oversees a staff of 18 that manages construction and facility planning projects. As University Architect, Robert is the primary steward of the campus architecture, which has buildings from 1829 to present and an overriding neo-Georgian aesthetic.

Robert holds degrees from Georgia Institute of Technology and Miami University. He has worked for Miami University’s Physical Facilities Department since 2007, starting as a Project Manager. He has taught in Miami’s Department of Architecture & Interior Design and Interdisciplinary Program. An Ohio native, Robert came to Miami after private practice in Atlanta, Honolulu, Williamsburg, and Cincinnati.
